Widows Rising

Empowering the Widowed Single Mothers

Restoring Hope Through Self‑Help Projects

In Uganda’s vulnerable communities, widowed single mothers face unimaginable struggles. With no partner to share the burden, many are left to raise children in dire poverty, without access to basic needs, education, or sustainable income. The Advocacy For The Homeless Children Uganda Foundation carries a tremendous burden for these women and their children, striving to bring relief and dignity where hope has been lost.

Our Approach: Poultry & Goat Rearing

We believe empowerment begins with opportunity. By distributing chickens and goats among less‑fortunate women, we enable them to start small self‑help projects such as poultry farming and goat rearing. These initiatives:

  • 🐓 Provide steady income through the sale of eggs, chicks, and goats.
  • 🍼 Improve nutrition for children by ensuring access to protein‑rich food.
  • 💼 Build independence so widows can support their families without relying on handouts.
  • 📚 Fund education by covering school fees and supplies for their children.

Why Your Support Matters

Very little help is afforded to widows in these communities, and many live in heartbreaking poverty. Just $40 a month can provide critical assistance—helping a mother feed her children, keep them in school, and build a sustainable livelihood.

Your generosity does more than meet immediate needs. It creates lasting change by empowering women to rise above poverty and give their children a brighter future.
